To get your artist blogsite on Urbanesque.com you will register below according to which WAN Blogsite/Membership Package you are purchasing.

The two choices are: DIY and BUILT FOR YOU

DIY [$4.95/month hosting fee]

DIY is for people who have experience in setting up Web or Blogsites already, or are fairly confident they can figure out how to evolve their site on their own. When you order your package [via the PayPal button below], our production staff will install the WordPress software into your unique directory on the Urbanesque.com website. PLEASE NOTE: your URL (or Domain Name, or Website Address) will be in this format - http://yourblogname.urbanesque.com - where a shortened version of your Blog’s name replaces “yourblogname”.

Hosting of your DIY Blogsite is $4.95 USD per month, and comes with eBook guides for: building a memorable webblog; promoting your blogsite online; copywriting tips and techniques; and more as we develop or discover them. This monthly fee also includes a Basic Membership in the Working Artists Network [WAN] giving you discounts on: supplies, health care coverage & alternative programs, discounts on business courses for artists, and more.

You will receive a monthly newsletter informing you of new eBooks that are available, letting you know about any new widgets or add-ons available to you, and other news related to your DIY Blogsite, as well as updates on WAN.

We encourage our hosting clients to monetize their websites, and our staff will be happy to assist you in getting you to the right resources to do just that.

BUILT FOR YOU [$595 basic set-up, $4.95/month hosting fee]

Our BUILT FOR YOU offer is a bit more complicated and time-consuming as we have a BFY team work with you to maximize the potential of your new website. And yes, that’s not a typo - even though we use the WordPress platform to create your site with you, this version can be both a traditional website PLUS contain the interactive and fresh content of a Blogsite.

The BFY Team has two primary members who work directly with you: a Marketing Consultant, and a Production Tech.

The Marketing Consultant’s job is to help you create a web presence that includes: the best possible information design of your new site; training on how to use the POWERFUL blogging tools to broadcast who you are and what you create into the mailboxes and search results pages of people who are seeking the kinds of things you have to offer; help you develop a simple and powerful content development plan, complete with a publishing schedule; help you evaluate the best Affiliate Marketing programs out there to supplement your offers with valuable and wanted products and services.

The Production Tech is the person who actually installs the WordPress software; takes your digital images [logo, artwork, headshot, etc.] and redesigns them to fit into the template you choose for your website; and installs approved widgets and add-ons you’ve chosen for your website; and will be the one to train you how to add and manage the content on your new website. He or she will be your primary technical support person while you host your site with Urbanesque.com

We know that the BUILT FOR YOU site is enough for internet newbies and folks with simpler business models to have a really strong presence on the internet. However, if you need something with a bit more oopmph, or another layer or two of complexity, we do offer technical consulting services at $65/hour, and marketing consulting services at $125/hour (we offer discounts for projects requiring more than 5 hours of consulting in either category).

What IS this website?

About 15 years ago, I and a couple of young men - one from NYC the other from San Francisco - attempted to create a digital magazine on CD-ROM about the underground music scene in NYC. That project later evolved into a broader vision that included a variety of artistic forms that we called Metrozine. The idea was a decade or two ahead of its time. The partnership dissolved, and we each went our separate ways - but for me the idea clung to my heart and so I established the domain name Urbanesque.com

For years Urbanesque has been a warehouse for some of my projects, and a launching pad for several others, including:
